Aurora Boreallis!

So tonight a good night for aurora activity in my area! My wife has never seen the northern lights, so I figure great she can finally see them tonight..WRONG! we have cloud cover here ( I hope it moves )! I really want her to see them as I have watched them many times and have told her stories about them. Its really quite something to see!
How many of you have witnessed the aurora?

Sorry you have cloud cover. I lived for most of a year in North Dakota and saw the aurora many times. Saw it once or twice in Montana and Canada on vacation too. A very awesome sight when you get a chance to enjoy it!

Seen the auroras many times, but we've had cloud cover up here in our end of the UP as well. Best I've seen was about 20-25 years ago while on a fishing trip in Northern Ontario, up around the Jellicoe/Geraldton area. Beautiful, eerie, awe-inspiring. The absolute quiet while the Lights dance around... something you never forget. Easy to understand why the native peoples saw supernatural causes.

A long trip north to see the auroras is definitely on my bucket list.

Never seen them. We were in Alaska last year but it was overcast most of the time.

They were unbelievable here in Minnesota Monday night, the best I've seen in a long time, you could even see shades of red.
