Is it wrong to hunt if your not gonna eat your kill
I got invited to go hunting with some friends, excitedly I responded hell yeah cause I've never been but always wanted a reason to shoot my dads smith and wesson 500 somewhere else besides the range, that thing is a cannon! I love it. Anyway I started thinking and feeling bad about killing an animal and killing an animal and not eating eat. I'm no animal activist just don't like taking a life for sport, However I'm no vegetarian.
A little advice please.
Thanks.

What are you hunting for? If your willing too, you should at least try it if you kill something. I grew up hunting, at first I didn't much want to eat elk at all, then I tried some elk steaks and jerky and loved it. If not, you should make sure your friends will eat it, or find someone that would eat it. Personally, since I grew up hunting I do not think it's right to hunt and not eat your kill, or at least make sure the meat goes to someone that will eat it.

You didn't mention what you would be hunting. That could have something to do with not eating your kill; I guess. Personally I think it would be unethical to not eat any game animal you might kill but varmits are another thing all together.

i sometimes struggle with that issue too, i dont eat-or ever plan to eat a ground squirel, or coyote, or other small game (minus delicious rabbit and waterfowl). but for moral sake i just chalk killing them up to practice for large game-gotta practice if you ever plan to bring an elk home. besides that- in a SHTF situation you could always rely on your small game hunting abilitys for eating if you really had to. just my .02

Will the poople you are with eat what you kill?
Are you going where they regularly feed animals so you are guaranteed a kill or will you really be hunting? There is a difference.
I dont eat any game animals but I know if the world went into the crapper tomorrow, I will be killing cows and hunting for meat after they are done.

I don't think it's wrong as long as somebody eats it. I'm sure one of your friends would take it off your hands, if you get a kill. Why wouldn't you eat some of it, though, if you're not a vegetarian?
