Been looking into a savage I really like the model 10fcp all though its quite pricey, what kind of distance is an axis capable of, can you put a 24" barrel on an axis, should I just save my money and get the 10fcp?

The Savage website shows only 22" barrels. If you go aftermarket you can probably get whatever length you want. But now your cost just went up.

I've got the 10FP and have been very pleased with its' accuracy.

It looks like the plain 10FP isn't offered anymore. The FP-SR looks similar but I don't have a threaded barrel.

Looks like the FCP's have detachable box magazines and the FP is an internal type.

^^^^ Correct. The "C" in FCP stands for "clip" (surprisingly) from what Savage explained to me.

Get the 10fcp and have no regrets. I have a 24" fcp with the 5r rifling and LOVE it to no end. Shoots great with the accustock.

You can get 20", 22" and 24" factory barrels from Savage. Accustock or HS prec.

They are great shooters
