Scope for Ruger 10/22
I recently purchased a Ruger 10/22. It's a fun plinking around rifle for the family. I'd like to add a scope to it but I DON'T want to break the bank doing it. I am not looking for a expensive high end scope that will take the wings off a gnat at 2 miles (haha), but rather looking for suggestions for a good lower end scope to put on the rifle.
This is the first scope I have ever bought so looking for suggestions.
Thanks in adavnce.

I recently built a 10/22 as well, and was looking for the same. Something low-mid power, not wanting to break the bank, and I got ended up with a BSA "sweet 22" from Quality optics and accessories from Leupold, Bushnell, Burris, Nikon and more! for damn near 50% off on clearance. They may still have some, who knows. It's a 3x9

I had a Bushnell 3x9x32mm scope on our 10-22 but switched it to a Primary Arms Micro Red Dot.
The 10-22 does more coke can plinking and does little longer range precision stuff so the red dot is a better match. The Bushnell went on my 1950s Remington 511 bolt gun and now I can really make our squirrels nervous!

^^^^ True that!!! I never really thought about mounting a red dot on one.....that woud be a nice match! Still thinking about a takedown 10/22, a nice one with a red dot would be ideal!

I've used Nikon Prostaff 4X or 3-9X variable scopes on all my .22s save one Ruger 10/22 (had an old Redfield Widefield scope available for that particular one). Never any issues with the Nikon and pretty darn good optics!

Get a NCStar for it. I have them on my .22's. there actually a really good scope and are very cheap. They sell on ebay and amazon. I see them at gun shows a lot too. I even have one on one of my mosin's and takes that pounding very well. good luck with it. -Rob

Everyone thanks for your input. I decided to go with the BSA 3-9x40 Sweet 22 Riflescope and I am putting it on my Ruger 10/22.
However I have one final question. The scope didn't come with any rings. What rings do you suggest that I go with to put this scope on the Ruger 10/22?
Sorry first scope that I have ever mounted.
Thanks in advance.

Ok...but from what I can see there are different sizes of scope rings. So I am trying to find the best ones to unite my Ruger 10/22 with my BSA 3-9x40 Sweet 22 Riflescope
