Are you using a bench rest and/or sand bags? Cause if your just standing and holding the rifle, that could explain a lot. If a rest isn't an option. Try laying prone.

yeah. everyone I know IRL that I shoot with are noobs as well. most of the guys I know have owned guns for years but are not active "shooters".

I think they like having guns more than actually shooting them.

the one that I have put the most rounds through is the AK and honestly quite a few mags were just for fun rapid fire mag dumps.

if I start going out and take my time, I should see improvement. I just don't practice enough.

You nailed it with that statement, practice more, and more, and more

This is an older target from 50 yards out with my 10/22, the grouping to the left of center was off hand using the sling... the center grouping was sitting using a wood block for a rest. A few flyers off hand and I obviously pulled the shots left... the center wasnt bad, but since then I worked on my trigger control a lot more and can make a neat little hole instead of a ragged one lol. I also agree with what someone else said about trying prone, I can just about put a 5 round group through the same hole prone (Yes I realize its upside down... I hung it that way accidentally)

Lol, Yeah I told the future wifey.... She said I embarrassed her.

Next time she goes with me to the range I'll take the camera. for now I guess it hasn't happened.
