WTT: Sig P220 for 9mm (MS)
Gun history: My cousin got this gun as a trade at a gun show a few years ago. I do not know the round count on it, it shows some holster wear on the front edges of the slide. The grip screws look a tad frazzled like someone was too aggressive with them at some point. I take pics of things like these and I mention them because I point out the faults first when describing things.
This is not a LNIB gun, is all I'm saying.
What it is, is an older make Sig that's in good working order with some scratches here and there. I really love Sigs and the P220 is, IMO, the best single stack .45 ever made. Including the 1911.
So why would I want to get rid of it? Well, because as it stands, I'm .45 heavy. And I just recently got a 4506-1 for Christmas. And there's a superstitious reason I'll tell you about if you're the one I end up trading with.
What I want is a 9mm. If you want to do a Sig 226 or Beretta 92FS trade head up, I'm very interested.
The rifling in the barrel is good, it shoots like a laser, since my cousin got it before he traded it to me, between him and me there have been about 300 rounds put through it. I saw a torture test where a 220 was still printing sub 2" groups after 10k rounds, so it's got plenty of shooting life left in it.
Also, this gun is a W German made Sig, I think those are kind of desirable to Sig aficionados. Import stamp reads "SIGARMS INC Herndon - VA" if that means anything to you.
Oh. The barrel. Notice how the bullet chamber is all shiny silver looking. It was "streaked" silver from the wear of shooting it, so my cousin just buffed the finish off because he thought that the silver looked better that way. I agree with him, I think it looks good.
Included from me are the pistol, a Mec-Gar produced Sig 8 rounder, a Sig OEM 7 rounder that needs a new spring in it (i.e. I don't use it because the spring is no good in it), and the case complete with Family Guy sticker that my cousin put on it. Sorry.
Please post pics of your gun if you are interested. Or PM me and I'll give you an email to send pics to. Also, I want to know a little about the gun you're wanting to trade.
If you're the one I decide to trade with, I'm going to request you send your gun to me, let me look at it, and then I'll send you this gun after I see that yours is in good working order. You can look this one over for a few days and decide to keep it or cancel the trade. I will not put a round through your gun until our trade is confirmed from your end.
I'd MUCH prefer FTF if possible, but if I have to use an FFL I can find a pawn shop to handle the shipping for me.
If you know someone with a Sig fetish and a 9 they are looking to trade from another forum, give 'em a link to this thread.
Thanks for looking!
