I like the Eotech, but the 3x ext is just bulky & a compromise. So a better idea would be something like the Leup 1-4VXR. With the FO light on & @ 1X, it's a lot like a Eot. Then just dial it up to 4X for longer 300yd shots. Seems about perfect for a patrol rifle, not as bulky as the Eot combo either & with better light gathering @ 4x.
