Question about optics mount

I received my new Vortex Strikefire, installed it on my AR and I now have a question. Has anyone come across a Quick Disconnect bolt and lever setup to replace the hex head that comes with many of the rings and mounts? I do not want to replace the whole mount, just the locking bolt and nut. Thanks for the help and info.

I don't know if they make one but you will have to resite your scope every time you remove it.

Absolutely. LaRue makes some of the best QD mounts out there. I take mine off all the time and it comes back within 1/4" of the original zero every time. With a 4MOA red dot that really is not noticeable but that's the difference between cheap mounts and great mounts and LaRue mounts are really good.

LaRue offers a few options but I would like to just change out the securing mechanism. I do appreciate the link though and will bookmark the option...

I will keep this one on my wants list. I still prefer to just swap the nut out with a lever.

I used to run that one and I put the 152 (slightly shorter version) on my wife's AR with an Aimpoint. The thing is a work of art! I've used a lot of AR mounts and LaRue makes the best IMO. My older 150 has been dropped, submerged, thrown, banged, etc and has yet to move at all. I've broken optics but the mount stayed solid. It ain't cheap but you wont have to ever buy a replacement.

DR- I fired off an email to Vortex and they came back to me this morning. They also mentioned LaRue. They also gave me a link to this one from ADM.

American Defense AD-68 Mount

Again, thanks for the help.

I have an American Defense Recon quick disconnect on my AR and I love it! I take the scope off my rifle all the time and when I put it back on, it returns to "zero". You just have to make sure you put it back into the same slots on the rail. It's a bit expensive but IMHO worth every penny! You get what you pay for!

Appreciate the suggestion. However, in my situation, the Strikefire can only use a single ring mount setup. I had seen that mount you mentioned and that was what got me thinking. Thanks.

If you just want the bolt you'll probably have to think outside the gun world. Like something for a bike wheel or similar kinda part. Play around with a google search.
