Walther P22 and Silencer
I am going today to pick up a Walter P22 and a Gemtech Outback II silencer. I will bring the pistol home today but will only bring home the paperwork for the silencer so that I can send in for approval.
This will be my first FFA firearm purchase and I am looking forward to shooting the 22 with a silencer with my grandson's. I am working to pass along my love of firearms to them and teach them how to handle firearms responsibly. |

I picked up the P22 this morning and paid for the silencer and the pistol. Brought home the P22 and put 100 rounds through it with no problems at all.
Will be calling sheriff on Monday to get appointment with him to sign my form 4's for me and fingerprints. Can't wait to have the Outback II to try out. |

Congrats. I think the wait time right now for stamps is around 2 months.

I love the P22 with a silencer.. I have yet to get off my butt and get one . But I bought my p22 used from a guy that had it silenced and shot it several times silenced with a Tac-65. He's willing to part with it for me should I get around to paying the 200 tax for it.
I am suprised that you had to send it in for the hammer spring. I've had Walther/ Smith & Wesson send me 2 extra as well as extra extractor. The only problems I ever had that they had me send it in was when the slide cracked. That happened during the last 10 rnds of a 1000 rnd torture test I was doing using nothing but powdered moly as a lube. They replaced it 100% free of charge too. The slide cracked at the 11,000 rnd range that I put through the pistol personally.

I have the HTG Universal waiting on the ATF - its about 5dB quieter than the outback 2 and 8dB quieter than the Tac 65, according to silencerresearch.com. Of course, its more expensive as well at $470ish. But I like the all-stainless steel construction so the can can be soaked in hydrogen peroxide/vineger mix for cleaning without worrying about the metal pitting, like would happen with aluminum cans. Now if the ATF would just hurry up and return the paperwork, I could go pick it up and try the thing out.
