I have a AR15 in 9mm... it shoots great. Even at 100 yds....goes slow but hits the target ever time PLUS it hold 30 rounds in a magazine. I have 8 magazines and 2 are always loaded and ready to rock and roll.

Don't know much about the carbine, but I've got their C9 pistol and it always goes bang regardless of the reputation they have.

I have seen that picture and there is another one floating around too, but it was more of a diagram I think. Definitely an improvement that's for sure!
I passed on a used Beretta CX4 storm a couple months ago for $325. I regret not picking it up. It used Beretta 92 mags, meaning you can use the 30 round OEM 9mm mags I will probably go that route if I ever find another one in the low $300 range. Would be a neat lil toy. They make them in .40 and .45 too I believe. |

Used to have two. Never cleaned them they just kept running. Dad got rid of them right before I left for the Corps.
While I was stationed out in NC I always kept my eyes open for one and found a NIB at a pawn shop for 200 even. Bought it right then. They have 10 round mags because it was designed during the Clinton AWB era and I don't think they are going to change their tooling to up the capacity anytime soon. The one I have now has never been taken apart and it just keeps shooting and shooting. That's the only gripe I have with them is it's a PITA to take apart and you need a ratchet or the tool that came in it to strip it down.

you guys are talking me into a hi point carbine. which route should I go. obviously 9mm is cheaper, and the 9mm rifle is cheaper. I already have a 9mm pistol, plus my likely weapon of choice in a home defense situation would be my mossberg 590. so i am heavily leaning towards the 9mm.

Picked a 995 up about a month ago. It is a blast to shoot and makes a great HD weapon. The small carbine size is ideal for moving around inside a home. And seems to like anything you want to feed it.
For the money you cannot go wrong. Nor can you appreciate the fun your money buys until you start putting rounds down range. While the 10 round mag seems limiting at first, with a little practice you can put a lot of rounds down range with little effort and in short order. Just carry more than one or two mags with you. At the moment there is only the 995 (9mm) and the 4095 (.40cal). The 4595 is still suppose to be coming, but not here yet. Supposedly later this year. HP says the new stock will be out late Summer or early Fall. Looking forward to getting one.

They've been saying "later this year" for many years now. Don't hold your breath waiting for one. From what I've read they are having a hard enough time keeping the 995s and 4095s on the shelves that they don't have the time to get done with the 4595.
Pick up the 9mm one now and a .45 one when and if they ever come out Diat IMO since you already have the "infrastructure" in place for the 9mm carbine as far as ammo you should just get that one and be done with it. Besides .40 costs a lot more.
