Looking at the FNP-9 any opinions?
I held and took apart a FNP-9 today after my shooting lesson and I like this gun. Not really pretty like the XD but was comfortable, easy to pull the slide back and lock it in place and felt good, looking for any opinions on it.

I have one with the stainless slide. Love it. Shoots well, easy to take apart, clean, and put back together. More accurate than I am. Easy to shoot, has two different backstraps, comes with THREE magazines, and is really a great bargain for what you get...which is a lot. Had mine for almost 1 and a half years now (WOW!), and I really have no regrets in getting it. I want to get another one, actually.
One thing to note is, it will shoot most brands of ammo with no problems with the exception of the Remington 9mm's. I guess the best way I can describe it is that it shoots real dirty. I have to clean the gun more than I would if I used WWB's or Magtech's, or Speer Lawman ammo. Also, it fails to feed or eject sometimes with Remington. I don't know why. I have no issues with the other brands I mentioned, though. All in all, a really great gun in my opinion. Frankly, I can't believe that it isn't more popular. It's better than people may think. A real sleeper in the crowded 9mm polymer gun market, but for a hammer fired gun, it's a sweet one. FN should make me their sponsor... |

Come check out the FN Forum if you wnat to learn more. Lots of info there.
I just got an FNP a few weeks ago (for free actually - as FN is a sponsor of our forum). Anyway - while I love my FN PS90 and FN Five Seven, the FNP never grabbed me enough to go buy one. Now that I have one - wow. I'm going shoot it again tomorrow. But on my last trip - I was amazed at how accurate the gun is. My P99 is my all time fav handgun - and this gun is ALMOST an equal to it. The ergonomics are not quite as good as the P99. But wow - I'd say that this is my 2nd fav 9mm of all time - and I have owned quite a lot of different guns since I first started in 1993. |

I have an FNP9M (the compact version,) and I'm extremely happy with it. I got it for $345 on gunbroker, and I couldn't be more happy with it.
I consider it a poor man's XD, because it is durable, eats all ammunition indiscriminately, is very easy to disassemble, has a loaded chamber indicator, visible hammer as a cocked striker indicator, and the Da/Sa trigger is very nice. Also, all slides on the FNPs are stainless steel or coated stainless. It also fits in my Raven Concealment Systems XD Ghost Holster, so I don't need to buy any accessories. |

I carry one as my CCW, switching between it and my XD9SC.

I would like to get one in 40 some day. I handled one at the gun shop and it looked and felt good.
