Your thoughts on this CCW set-up

So I'm looking for a CCW set-up. I've narrowed it down to a Glock 27 and S&W M&P compact, as I love my M&P full size (XD isnt available in mass). However, I'm thinking about also buying a small S&W J-frame for summer carry, as I feel the other two might still be a little large for CCW in summer clothes....just wondering if anybody had any thoughts on the idea.

I have a J frame that I carry everyday, everywhere. It goes great in jeans, cargos, and shorts. I would pick the glock over the M&P as glocks are really reliable and there have been issues with the M&P, as with most new models of firearms. Just my $.02

I like the M&P over the Glock. 1 thing to consider is that you can get a glock anywhere as well as parts etc. Every gunsmith can work on a glock. The M&P is new and not everyplace has accessories for M&P, yet.

Are you wearing Thong Speedo's around? If so you might think about the Ruger LCP. The black finish blends better!!!

Thoughts on summer carry??????????????
I carry my XD9sc in the cooler weather.
J-frames are nice, I love my S&W 642.
BUT my Ruger LCP is my definite choice for summer carry.
Smaller and MUCH thinner than the revolver.
Also carries 6 +1 , as opposed to the 5 shot j-frame, and with an extra mag, reloads are much easier with the Ruger.
Just my .02 cents.............

Well I might be SOL when wearing my speedo....LCP's arent available in MA And to answer another posters question, we don't have a "CCW", we have an "any lawful purpose" which is pretty much the same thing. Thanks for the posts so far everyone.

Hello I like that Ruger LCP is that a 380 or 9? and how much do they run. Also I shoot an XD 40 service but have been carrying my wife's 642 which is a great gun to throw in my back pocket. I noticed you have CT grips on yours are they the factory 642ct package grips or our they the 405 model? I bought a set of the 105 or Defender series for my wife's and sent them back after 20 rounds the hard poly grips ripped her skin open and drastically increased recoil. I did order the 405 ct

I have a Glock 26 - don't like it all and can't hit a thing with it. I had a number of guys on the department shoot the Glock 26 too, and they were not able to shoot it accurately either. I've spent a ton of money on that gun with one thing and another and still no improvement. I haven't shot the M&P, but I would choose it over the Glock anyday.

I carry an XD .45 Service for work and a S&W 642 for back up and off duty carry.

Ruger LCP is 380. Should be able to pick one up for $280 - $300. Pricing will vary depending on your location.
