Nope, it was the BEST thing I ever did was to sell the G22... The G22 is so over rated. ok, ANY glock is over rated. I did carry the g22 for years. But about 5 years ago, a friend introduced me to his XD. I was SOLD. I went out and bought one that day, an XD.40, Turned around and sold the G22 to some other FOOL that thought they were the best... a few months Later, I had him shoot MY XD, and you know what... Yep, you guest it. He bought an XD also... I have another friend who swears by and only carried 1911's. He shot my xd once, now he carries the XD .45 service...Still love's his 1911's, but strictly carries the xd. Glocks are great guns, I do admit that, but the Xd is far superior if you ask me. IMHO. If I read your Avatar correctly, you served in 68-69... I Thank you for that. but i think you ate to Much of that Rice mixed with that Orange crap, and now YOU can't think straight... you think the glocks are better? ... NOT

I fool around with lots of guns, but only one stays at the ready 24-7 for me and thats a very modified Glock 22.
I have owned the pistol since 1994 and it has never malfunctioned. Therefore, you won't find me agreeing that its overrated. A pistol that has been 100% since the mid 90s and hardly ever gets cleaned or lubed is NOT overrated, if you ask me. - Brickboy240

Glocks are fantastic pistols. I don't mind saying that if Gaston had put as much work into the ergonomics as he did into the functionality/durability of his products I'd be a happy Glock owner instead of a happy XD owner. As it is, there are just a few too many things that rub me the wrong way (literally) with the feel of his handguns.

growing up shooting Dad's M1911 and a Hi-Power...yes, I too hated the Glock's grip angle. However, I loved its reliability, accuracy and overall reputation for dependability and quality materials.
A Glock with the proper grip modification is a TOTALLY different animal. My G22 has had the grip modded to remove the backstrap hump and remove material under the triggerguard. It points like an XD. Out of the box...no Glocks don't jazz me at all, but with the right mods...man...I'll take one over anyhting else when its hitting the fan because i know it will work everytime. - brickboy240

It may be reliable...but it is butt ugly. I know I know, that shouldn't really matter, but when there are other reliable guns out there that also look appealing, I just have to say no to the Glock.

Well, you know what they say: Colts and Kimbers are what you show your friends...Glocks are what you show your enemy.
Any pistol that will function all the time is beautiful to me. You can have your pretty wood grips and hard chrome finishes. - Brickboy240

I turned my sig snob cousin to an XD daily carrier, he had a p239 in .40 cal daily carried, though it was soooo slim and so awsome, neat gun i do like it, it is better than the XD in that it flexs less, i will admit that. Anyways first time we went shooting to break in my 45 compact he says that thing is so fat its a double stack, comapred them and its like 1/8 " difference. Two weeks later he buys a XD 45 compact just like mine, then his dad (my uncle a sig p220 carrier) sets his p220 to the back of the drawer and carries the same xd 45 compact as me and my cousin, the only thing the xd 45 compact lacks is a rubber grip that isnt a hack job slip on rubber tube. I would love a custom fit, shrunk on rubber grip with a little conture to it, its soooo darn close to being perfect. Glocks are good not as good though. |

I'm Not your "KID", but thanks.... I'm almost your age... I missed it by a few years... I got the tail end of the clean up stages.... But like I said, "I Thank you for that"..Which meant, I Thank you for your Service. I did NOT mean it in a bad way... Sorry if it came across that way. And your right, I have no idea what that orange Crap has done. I was trying to be sarcastic like you were about me falling on my head... but I guess it came out wrong... Again, I apologize if came out wrong. Now back to the glock....all I can say is XD ROCKS!!!!! Have a Good day, and as Always, Stay Safe.
