.445 super mag
I was wondering if anybody has any info on the .445 super mag. What I would like to do is either rebarrel or rechamber a marlin .44 mag lever gun into .445 super mag. that way I can use the same ammo in that, my TC Contender, and I am in the process of getting a Dan Wesson Alaskan Guide .445 super mag. Has anybody heard of this being done before. I know that the cartridge slot on the tube will need enlarged to allow for the longer OAL. or do you think that I shold get a .444 marlin and rebarrel it. My theory is that if the sh*t ever hits the fan I want as many guns in as few calibers as possible. that way if a gun were to break than Im not stuck with 500 rounds of useless ammo. Any opinions or info are welcome. thanks.

You will have to get a .444 Marlin lever gun and rebarrel it. Lever-actions are notorious for misbehaving with cartridges exceeding a max overall length, so I can see stuffing a 445 super into a .44 magnum action resulting in a quite useless firearm.
