New Beretta PX4 Storm Sub Compact
Beretta PX4 Storm-
Anyone else find this new sub compact attractive? Its seems Beretta is taking their sweet ol' time getting these to the retailers. Beretta PX4 Storm Subcompact http://www.gunblast.com/images/SHOT2...1/100_0284.jpg http://www.arcimboldeb.com/img/eventi/armi2/3.jpg

Someone is selling one on a local Mustang forum here. If I didn't just buy a Walther P22, I'd probably make an offer. I like the hi-tech look of the PX4.

Thanks for the clarification. What barrel lengths do they come in?

I saw this gun for the first time while surfing the web yesterday. It's my new leading contender for a CC gun, probably won't get one until later in the year though.
It sounded to me like the barrel was 3in. The frame is smaller than the XDsc. 13+1 in 9mm, 10+1 .40. Has an ambidextrous safety/decocking lever, which I thought was neat. The ergonomics look top notch, and the picture in the first link below with the Insight X2 all snugged up and perfect-fitting... made me drool a little. Beretta Product Spotlight | Xtrema2 Beretta PX4 Storm Subcompact Most sources say they'll be available by the end of June; my bet is they'll be hard to come by even after release.

Okay, I am completely lost! (not a new thing).
I thought the "Storm" was the Beretta carbine. I had opportunity to shoot the Beretta carbine awhile ago and it was fun. It was chambered in .40SW and took the same mag as the Beretta 96 which we shot with it. I'd rather have my XD .45 and either the 12 or the AR, but that's okay. Chapie+ Quote:

I think the "CX" Storm is their pistol-caliber carbine line, and the "PX" Storm is their pistol line to go with the carbines.
Also one other note, the 17-round PX Storm service 9mm clip is usable with the 9mm Sub Compact.

The way I remember is Cx4 = carbine and Px4 = pistol.

Interesting that the sub-compact uses a tilting barrel and the regular model uses the rotating barrel. Wonder why?
I've been thinking about getting the regular size model but have yet to talk to anyone who's shot one. The promo stuff about the rotating barrel (e.g. allows barrel to be closer to frame/grip thus helping with control, rotating barrel tending to counteract flinch of RH shooter) sounds good but wondering what real world experience has been. I've got an XD40 but would like to get a semi-auto with an exposed hammer so I've been looking at CZ, Sig and Beretta. |
