10 day waiting period on a Mosin Nagant?!?!!? LOL...... Cause we all know Nagants are the ultimate "going postal" rifle.

Congrats on the new rifle, I just picked up a 91/30 last week. Neat little piece of history.

haha, I know, CA is so retarded. Best weather in the world though. Gonna put one of the Monte Carlo drop-in stocks on it, and then a scope mount. =one of the cheapest medium-class hunting rifles available. I know absolutely nothing about buying surplus rifles, so I probably picked the one that's gonna hit 30' left at 100 yards. When my dad passed, all his guns were left to me, so i took his Viet-Nam trophy M44 out and shot two boxes through it. Cleaned it and heavily oiled it and it's never gonna be fired again.

It'll be as is for the first range trip, but if I ever want to hunt some boar around these woods, I'll need the HUGE weight savings.

If you haven't already planned on a bent bolt handle, might I recommend Mosinparts.com . Mike Battersby is a great guy and fast turn around. I've got a 91/30 with a monte carlo and scope. I have the ATI scope mount and highly DONT recommend it! The contours of the mount don't line up straight. I learned that AFTER I tapped the receiver (my fault). So now the mount sits flush and flat on the contour of the receiver but the scope mount actually points right. Just enough that if I crank the scope all the way left, I just lines up bore sighting. I haven't had time to take the thing out yet, so I hope the rifle doesn't shoot left!
