Scopes...

I am looking to upgrade the scope on my bolt gun...I'm not looking for anything too awful fancy, just a medium-range scope that has reasonable brightness, a good warranty, and is hopefully under $250 or so.

One of the scopes that has caught my eye early on is the Burris Fullfield II...I have seen these in packages for around 200 bucks or so, and it sounds like their warranty is good too. Any opinions on this model?

Thanks in advance, y'all.

All right, this will open a can of worms. Can we skip to the point where someone says "Leupold.........'nuff said!!"?

I've heard great things about the Fullfield II. I also have some Pentax scopes in that price range that are nice. You should also look at Bushnell 3200 and 4200s, and the Nikon Buckmasters.

Check out the Mueller Tac II 3-10x44 - can be had for $269. It's their best scope, made in Japan with Japanese optics. Limited lifteime warranty.

Gets great reviews and is compared to the Leupold VX III for about half the price.

I have one and it's a fine scope. It's an awfully bright scope for sure.

+1 on the Nikon's

Nikon 3-9x40 Buckmaster Riflescope

Best scopes for the money, IMO, but hey, I'm biased

I have a Burris Fullfield II 3x9x40 and have no complaints about it. The binos that comes with it are nice to. A couple of years ago while elk hunting in sleet the binos fogged internally but after a day in the camper they cleared up. I also am a fan of Nikon I have a Prostaff on my .17HMR and a Monarch on my .22-250.

Not bashing BSA but the one I had wouldnt hold zero on larger calibers (30-06 and 308 ) but I put it on a .22 rifle and it worked fine.Ive played around with BSA reddots they seem ok.
