anyone own a ppk or ppk/s??

Just picked up a like new ss ppk/s from interarms. I must say that I am quite impressed with this little gun. A bit heavier than other .380's but it is a great shooter. Really accurate too. It's draw backs I guess would be the weight I mentioned and it's recoil is a bit snappy. Seems like it will make a very good CCW gun. I haven't yet shot any defensive ammo though so I don't know what ammo it likes and doesn't like.

Anyone else have a ppk? What do you think about it?

I'm seriously considering getting one, but haven't yet. I have had several opportunities to shoot one though, and I'm really impressed with it.

I noticed that Hornady was making some ballistic tip .380s (or something like that, I didn't look very closely) and have heard that they work perfectly with the PPK, and expand very well.

But the heavier weight is actually a good thing, as it helps reduce recoil.

The problem I had was that the PPKs I've shot have all been slice-n-dicers. They all cut the web of my hand.

I have also been underwhelmed by their reliability.

I would prefer a Sig 230, Bersa or Mak.

I have and carry a S&W made ppk/s in .380. The S&W models extend the tang so there is no bite to it. Mine will eat anything after I had the ramp polished. I normally use Cor-bons or Speer Gold Dots. I carry in this most of the time. Some people have had bad luck with them but mine has been solid as a rock.

Mine doesn't bite my hand but it has very sharp edges that cut my thumb knuckle right at the webbing. I think this can be fixed by smoothing the corner a bit.

I haven't had any reliability issues with mine. I've heard the S&W quality is hit or miss, but the Interarms made are quite reliable.
