Unless you are going to be standing all day and not bending over a SOB holster is your worst choice. Keep your weapon where you can have control over it.

Stop and think about it.
There will be a lump in the small of your back, Uncomfortable to sit on, when you bend over it will be exposed or print badly. If you are sitting and need to draw quickly....good luck. Slip and fall and land on your back You will have less control over retention out back at 6 o'clock then you will have at say from strongside 2 to 4 o'clock.

I agree the worst part of SOB is the potential for injury if you were to fall on it.
I tried carrying my Sig P229 in an SOB 12 years ago. It lasted about 2 days. It was an inconvenience to remove it every time I sat in the truck. It was also a farther, more awkward draw than IWB or OWB. I think I used a Galco holsters; Holsters; Gun holster, pistol holsters, western holsters, shoulder holsters, leather holster and Glock holsters. Try it out, it may work for you...... Let us know what you decided on... Good luck and welcome to the forum from Dallas Texas....

I agree with all the others, mine was a pain in that I couldn't sit down and it was a slow draw. My pistol never fell out, but I sure did reach back and check it a lot for fear of such.

SOB holsters are probably the least safe of any holster. Why? Consider that you have to reach behind your back to place your hand on your weapon...then draw your weapon from the holster...then sweep your hand and arm with the weapon drawn approximately 180 degrees around your body until you have it in front of you, and then place your weapon on target. It looks easy and very cool on TV and in the movies, but IMHO there are way too many opportunities for an AD/ND to occur. Under the stress of a stressful situation, the opportunity for a BANG to occur at the wrong time is a distinct possibility.

I have a DeSantis SOB, I use it in the woods cause it's the only way to keep it clear of a chainsaw. The back injury thing is pure bunk, dozens of occupations require a tool belt that are every bit as dangerous as falling on a gun ( short of an AD that is ). Yes they are very uncomfortable to sit with especially driving. As for it falling out I have another SOB with a thumb break but my SC in the DeSantis ain't goin no where.
I chose the DeSantis cause at the time Galco didn't have an SOB for the XD.
