1st rifle!
I just bought my first rifle yesterday, I got a Norinco SKS. I traded off an old P22 for $180, and was able to talk the price on the SKS down to $200. From what I can tell, it was made in 1957 (the serial number is 16240** F), and it is in really good shape, all numbers matching. It has all the cleaning stuff with it, and the spike bayonet, and was covered in cosmoline. Going to try to go shoot it tomorrow morning! This thing is cheaper to shoot than my 9mm!

my first (and sadly still only) rifle is a Norinco SKS, (low serial # like yours) Its so much fun to shoot, I love the price of ammo.
if you havent already go to cheaper than dirt and pick up some clipper strips, makes loading a lot faster. its an awesome gun, way fun to shoot. YouTube - SKS Disassembly and cleaning - part 1 of 2 YouTube - SKS Disassembly and cleaning - Part 2- reassembly These helped me do my first take down and clean all the oil off of mine. It is such a simple rifle its beautiful. |

Congrats on your new rifle. An SKS was the first "real" rifle I shot (besides a .22) when I was probably 8 or 9. ahhh memories.
