Buying gun with CCW?

I am in NC and was wondering if I can use my CCW permit to buy a gun instead of buying a gun permit for $10 at the sheriffs office. Thanks in advance.

Thanks but I think you misunderstood my question. I am asking if I can use my CCW permit to buy a handgun instead of going to the sheriffs office and buying a $10 gun permit here in NC. Does anyone else know the answer to this question?

Yes, in NC your CHL replaces the need to acquire purchase permits from your local sheriff. You can buy as many handguns as often as you wish.

I know in Utah you don't have to pay for the background check at BCI with you have a CCP so you should be good to go. When you get your CCP you are checked on daily by your agency to make sure you can still have one (at least in Utah you are).

in texas you can bypass the typical background check when you have a CCW. Saves you 10-15 min when you buy a gun

+1, its worth getting CHL for just the ease and ability to purchase guns.

Still have the check here in Florida, but there's no 3-day wait with a CCW. I actually agree with this kind of. Who's to say a CCW holder didn't just commit a crime and had the rest of his guns confiscated or something. Don't really want a recent felon walking around buying guns do we? I know a lot of states issue licenses for multiple years. A lot can happen in those years that a check could weed out.
