Nice! I was looking at one the other day. Have you fired it yet?

Yes, about 40 or so break in rounds.

So far it is dead accurate.

The scope is the new Millet LRS-1.

56 mm objective

I so love the Remi 700.. such an awesome platform for accurate long range shooting. Have one with a Medium heavy barrel, chambered in .308.. and can drive nails with it.

Great looking rifle!

Let's see some long range targets. Dead accurate and nail driver are a little too subjective for me.

Agreed a 10 shot group at 200+ yds will tell the story. Watch for uneven wear on the back of the recoil lugs, I have seen quite a few Remingtons that need that area lapped. Watch for vertical or horizontal stringing of shots, this could mean a bedding issue, muzzle crown issue or improperly torqued trigger gaurd/floor plate screws. Always clean the rifle from the breach end to avoid damage to the crown. Enjoy. I have never seen a properly set up Remington that wouldnt do 3/4 MOA or better with precision handloads. I wouldnt be satisfied with that one unless it does 1/2 MOA or better.

Interesting write up on a 5R. Everyone turns out a lemon now and then, but I wouldn't expect it from the custom shop - AccurateShooter.com Daily Bulletin
