Complete AR-15 kit - anyone have any experience with this outfit?

This looks like a ghreat way to get into my first AR for a good price with what appears rto be pretty good componenets. Anyone have any experience with this outfit or feedback? What about E.R Shaw barrels?

I'm tempted to snag one of these . . .

Also, should I get the Wylde chamber in 5.56. Is there any issue with fouling the chamber since I would probably be using .223 95% of the time?

How hard is it to assemble the lower receiver assembly. This kit comes with a stripped lower to avoid the FFL most likely.

Everything is USA made.

Forgive me, I'm an AR neophyte.

I don't believe it comes with the lower or it would have to go thru an FFL.

It says fully stripped lower or "lower receiver parts set" anyway

I got a similar rifle kit from Del-ton. Model1sales is in TX so they would have to add tax to my purchase. No issues with Del-ton. Lots of positive feedback on them on other forums.

Assembling the lower was easy. Just like your Legos as a kid. There's a video and instructions on ar15.com. I had the printed instructions and the laptop with the video and went at it. Got done in a little over an hour. If I do it again I'd be done in 15-20 mins. It's that simple. The only thing that takes time is identifying the right parts.

Yes, they sell it minus the receiver to avoid FFL requirements. It's best to get that locally.

Its best you get whatever you buy in 5.56mm. Even if you shoot .223 95% of the time, that other 5% could cause you trouble with the 5.56mm round in a .223 chamber.

For sure the 5.56.

I have a problem with the cost
of all the add on's that they suggest
on the drop down boxes. Hello, at
their suggestion, one could rack up
a thousand bucks in no time at all.

go with del-ton, rifle kits are priced well and are 5.56. If you get 5.56 dont have to worry about using .223/5.56 interchangably

I bought my midlength kit with some upgrades (RRA 2 stage trigger, new grips) and bought a stripped lower in town. Built it all for $950 with three 30 round magpul pmags

I just got the wife's 20" Model 1 Sales kit in today. It does not come with a receiver it's "less" lower receiver. I ordered a lower from a local dealer and I'm still waiting for it to come in. The kit made it from Texas to Coastal NC in 6 days time. It beat the Lower here and I ordered the lower a week before hand.

All the stuff seems to be of good build quality but I haven't put any rounds though it and don't plan to as it's the wife's and I want here to shoot it first and she's deployed right now.

Stuff I didn't really care for

The but plate on the A2 stock has a plastic trap door and door latch. Not sure why they cut costs there also the butt plate fit on the stock is "off" so to speak not lining up and leaving an "edge" on one side.

It does not come with a lower and they're good kits, not great but good.
