I know, Fritz...I admit it...I am a sucker for lever actions. There are a few types of firearms that I dearly love: lever-action rifles, Mauser bolt guns, early SIG pistols and Hi-Powers.
Actually, I love just about any cowboy type firearm - single action pistols, lever actions, Winchester 97s and 87s and I'd love one of those Colt Lightning repros...maybe someday. - brickboy240

So I guess I need a Mauser.
Tried to say no new ammo or guns, but well, gosh... 8mm isn't too pricey (yet) but the affordable Yugos are all gone. Might start new Mauser thread on how to get an intro rig.

Yeah, Mauser are big fun. Back in the glory days of the early 90s, I could shoot my SKS and 8mm Mausers cheaper than I could my 22 magnum!
The Yugo Mausers look lke good guns, especially for the money. The German 98ks and Czech VZ-24s are better 8mm Mausers, though. Ditto for the beautiful Czech made Persian Long Mausers (if you can afford them). The Swedish 6.5mm Mausers are my favorite. Deadly accurate, beautifully finished and very fun to shoot. My 1905 Swedish M96 looks like it was made yesterday and it a tackhammer. - Brickboy240

Lever guns are nice, but I prefer bolt guns. However, I love a single action cowboy pistol. I would love to have so many different variations, but money is always a factor.
I really like the look of Ruger's Vaquero Gun Fighter (?) model. The short 3 3/4 barrel. MMMMMMM warm, 45 Colt goodness from that would be most pleasing.
