Smith & Wesson Sigma SW40VE Pistol

I have a coworker/friend that is considering trading his Dan Wesson 8' 357 mag revolver for this Sigma 40S&W.
Product: Model SW40VE Pistol

I don't think S&W makes Sigma anymore since introducing the M&P line.
Does anyone have any input on the Sigma pistols?
Thanks...............

They are definitely a very cost effective (cheap) gun. I almost bought one myself last month when s&w was offering $50 rebate. The gun new was $300 + tax (after rebate).
However, from what I have heard-You get what you pay for.
Be a real friend, tell him to get an XD

My friend has one of those junkers and it's just that. So I guess he got what he paid for. Can't hit the side of a barn with it. I thought it might be him but his dad couldn't either.

There are worse guns for the money. But there are better guns for the money too.

He could get a damn police trade-in Glock for $330 or so.

My SW9VE ran $280 after the rebate pluse the 2 extra free mags. Not a bad deal at all. It is what it is. Reliable, affordable self defense weapon that is combat accurate. The older ones though were horrible from what I've read though....

I think this was the model that a friend of mine has (9mm though). I shot it and boy, did it have a heavy/long trigger. The first time I tried to pull the trigger, I thought there was some type of safety on blocking the trigger, boy was it heavy and long.
