remington 870, ftw.

as for the model 12, i love the one my dad has. it has a full choke, 32" barrel, and is a duck slaying machine!

Yep, to be honest, the old Winchester Model 12 is my hands down favorite pump shotgun. However, they are heavy, expensive and getting harder to find. Slick action and very well made guns that will last forever. If you find a nice M-12 riot gun that you can afford...a finer pumpgun is hard to find.

A very good runner up has got to be the 870 Remington. They're the Glock of pump shotguns. Reliable, well made, simple and easy to accessorize and work on.

Yup

I went to the store to verify and the 870 Express are made in US. Now I need to shop around a little and find the best price.

Thanks for all the info.

IMO-The Rem mod 17 (Ithaca mod 37) - is the smoothest pump made.
Mine's in 20 ga. - For "heavy lifting" you can't beat a 12 Ga. Rem 870 !!
solid, american made, and 100% reliable Never owned a Mossberg or Winchester.
