Great PSA. I WAS in the market for one and almost bid on one before giving the forums one last look.

This happened on April 12th and it still has not been resolved by FN. Awesome customer service.

I think I'd have gotten a lawyer at this point.

Wow! I wonder what other guns will fire out of battery.

Reloads. I don't care how careful you are, stuff happens. Reloads void warranty. FN has NO responsibility to do anything. I reload, so I'm not bashing reloaders, just saying he probably screwed the pooch himself.

That sucks. It looks like his hand has recovered, he'll just have brass stuck in it for the rest of his life. I hope FN does something about it. I would also have gotten a lawyer at that point.

If the gun fired out of battery, which many people posting in that thread said their guns would when tested; it doesn't matter if he was using factory or reloaded ammo. It sounds like a mechanical problem with the gun design and not the ammo choice.

I'm not so sure that the reloads will void the warranty if it can be conclusively demonstrated that the gun blew up due to a design flaw that led it to fire out of battery such that the problem would occur whether the cartirdges were factory or reloads. The burden of proof is going to be on the shooter. But a good attorney might be able to break the exclusion.
