I wasn't referring to the OP of THIS thread, as all he did was repost and reference the other thread on fiveseven forum.
I'm not at all interested in going over there and signing up for an account just to tell the guy he needs to do some better damage control. He is a member here now, and he can either take it or leave it. No skin off my back. I agree with Joeywhat, this could be seen by FN as libel. They took care of the guy, went leaps and bounds out of their way to make him happy, but they still have a negative thread on the internet. Not to mention, threads on BBSs have a tendency to index really well in internet search results. |

I doubt that would fly. A lawsuit most likely would never made it to court before a settlement by both parties were made, much in the same way many personal injury cases are settled. I doubt the replacement handgun was an act of kindness as much as an appeasement to gain favor.
Alls well that ends well. The guy gets a new pistol, learns a lesson about reloads, and carries some shrapnel around for the rest of his days to remind him of the accident.

I'm really not sure why someone who blew up their gun with reloads would even get a lawyer to represent them for a suit against the manufacturer of the gun. FN sent him the gun because it shut him up. The internet is a wicked beast, and it doesn't take long for the gossip to start. One guy screams foul play and next thing you know every gun forum in the world knows about it. FN did some damage control to keep things under wraps. But either way it wouldn't be in FN's interest to sue, unless it was in teh form of a countersuit.

That's what I was talking about with an edit, simply adding this new info to the original post.
