I am about to do the same, but my girlfriend dislikes the look of the 22/45 and I mainly am buying the .22 so she can learn how to shoot. Arg

I'm not holding my breath on the XD .22 conversion so I already picked up a 22/45. If the conversion comes out, I'll buy one of them too.

You'll love it.

I have a 5.5" target version and have been loving it for 10 years. Fun and accurate and the controls are similar to my 1911s and Hi-Power.

Ruger

I have a Mark III and love it for target practice. I just have the basic version which was $230. I wasn't crazy about the square frame and grip on the 22/45. Now I just have to upgrade to the hunter....

Yeah, but if you shoot a 1911, Hi-Power or CZ-75, the 22-45 grip and control placement makes total sense. If you're used to a Glock...it might drive you nuts.

Yeah, but who shoots a glock anyway?

I love my 22/45.

i spent some quality time (over 1000 rounds) with a markII earlier this year and never cleaned it.

I learned a lot of respect for that pistol, and wanted to get one but couldn't justify buying a 3rd gun this year.

but since the bore/grip angle are close to the XD i'm lieing to myself and saying that i'll save the money on ammo.

that's why I got a 4" cause my XD is a subcompact
