Any reason NOT to get an SKS?

Can anybody come up with a terribly compelling reason for me not to get an SKS?

Because... I'm really struggling to keep this $300 in my bank account right now.

Yes, if it was not properly maintained your SKS may blow up and kill you.

I suggest you buy it, but then immediately ship it to me along with 1000 rounds of ammunition for "testing". Once I have completed the testing phase I will graciously return it to you, because that's just kind of stand up guy I am.

I say say go on and buy it! As some others as said , If the SKS rifle was built today , the price would easily be about $600 or more . Its an awesome "bang for the buck"

Buy it! Great gun for the money

You do realize that we're all going to play the part of the devil on your shoulder right?

Or, you could start an AR build if you haven't already

I bought an sks as an investment gun... at least that is what I told the wife. It has easily become one of my favorites. I am not sure why but it is just as fun to shoot as my ak's

An AR build? Today I shot my Bushamster AR for about 12 hrs doing drills, shooting hundreds of rounds, and cleaning it . This in mind and compared to shooting and doing the same thing to an SKS , I say GET THE SKS !!!!! Easier to clean , more reliable, and just plain ole good!

I am seriously thinking about picking up a cheap Yugo SKS and adding a Tapco kit to it.
