I bought an SKS about a year ago...what fun it is to shoot. Recoil so light that my daughter even shoots it. I went to the range one time, and ended up at the same shooting bench with a guy that had just bought an AK. I personally think the AK sounded tinny compared to the SKS. He was so impressed that he ask to shoot it...which I handed him the gun, and said enjoy. I think he was regretting his purchase.

None to speak of. I have a recoil buffer in there, too, and if you "limp wrist," so to speak (ie, don't hold the rifle solidly) it does short stroke a bit, but I've never had this problem: my brother in law (not really familiar with firearms) has had this issue when shooting it on occasion.

What's the best place to get an SKS online these days? J&G went up on their prices.

I'm going to do some research on what to look for and what to avoid when purchasing one. Any one have anything off the top of your head as far as a resource?
