![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The only think I am somewhat disappointed in is the wood. They both have seen better days. I have seen service grades with better furniture. I suppose it is getting slim pickens' out there now days. If this is the wood they have for correct grade then I hate to see rack or service grade. The SA is a 5.4 million range serial. The BBl is 10/54 and the TE is about 2.5. muzzle wear is just under 1. Measured with the CMP gauges. The HRA is 5.5 million range serial with a 09/54 BBL. TE is a hair under 2.5 with the muzzle just under 1 as well. The metal is excellent which is the main thing.

Nice!
The wood on my Service Grade M-1 was very similar and that was at least 12 years ago! I'd just be glad...you got soem really nice additions to the collection. Have you checked the op-rod on the Springer to see if it is cut or un-cut? Judging by the serial number, it might be too high and might have seen only a raduised op rod. I got lucky and my 1944 SA came with an un-cut rod...an extra bonus. - Brickboy240

The Garand is like the Hi-Power...looking at one...you are inclined to think "its expensive and whats so special about it?"
If you have shot either one....you understand why they're so special and highly thought of. - Brickboy240
