Nice rifle, I hope it works for you.
My first carbine a long time ago was a Universal (junk).
A straight across trade for a 10/22 is a great deal (makes me wonder if there is feeding problems or something else amiss? hope not).

I bought a case of 1,000 Wolf .30 carbine for $269 a few years ago. That was when Wolf just introduced the .30 carbine in their ammo line. It was kind of expensive then, but I bet a bargain now with today's prices. I still can't figure out why carbine ammo has always been priced so high for commercial or military grade ammo?

Your carbine has a unusual stock. No cut out for a sling. In fact I don't see any sling attachments. Weird

The one pictured above isn't mine, I just found one on the net to show as an example. I have a Korean issued carbine with offical marks on it and I like it alot. I need to shoot it again, it's been awhile since I've blasted dirt with it

No kidding...with the price of 30 Carbine ammo recently, I have not taken out my Carbine and blasted with it in a long time. Too bad, because it is definately the most fun milsurp rifle to plink with.

I may have to try Wolf's 30 Carbine ammo...its the only factory 30 Carbine ammo left that is even remotely affordable.

Congrats on getting the Carbine. I have an Inland (GM) model made in 1943. Amazing gun, it shoots anything I load in the mag. I've tried surplus, Georgia Arms reloads, Winchester, Wolf, Sellier & Bellot and Remington. They have all fed reliably, but I found Remington to shoot more accurately.

Yes, if anything, the M-1 carbine is very reliable...IF you use GI magazines.
