HD Shotgun - Small Upgrades
In the quest to continually re-evaluate and upgrade my defensive battery (and get cool new stuff) I added a 12" shorty buttstock to my Maverick pump. It lets me square up to the target and get some weight behind the gun. It's also a lot easier for my fiancee to use now.
I also replaced the Xenon G2 bulb with a Surefire LED lamp assembly. They're apparently more shock-proof, and better for shotguns. One went in the G2 on my SBR as well. ![]() I thought my shotgun was compact before, but that extra 2" makes a big difference. It's about 35" from muzzle to toe now. I would highly recommend the Hogue stock, even if you want a full-length one. It's got overmolding on the wrist/grip and the little knobs in the rubber really let you get a good grip.

Have you considered buying a Knoxx SpecOps stock? You can adjust LOP and it reduces recoil. A win-win when multiple people will be using the same shotgun.
I installed one on my 870 and it definately reduces recoil. Knoxx Recoil Solutions |

+1 on that. I have one on my Mossy 590.

Mods to consider:
1) Knoxx stock. I've got the SpecOps Folder, awesome. Shoot skeet all day long one handed. Great thing. 2) Hogue fore end. 3) Bright follower.

I don't like the spec-ops stocks. Feels bulky to me. The 'standard' knoxx stock just looks odd, and the Hogue stock has soft rubber overmolding. I specifically bought this short stock because I like the short length of pull. My collapsible AK stock stays in the shortest position, as does my AR stock. I especially like being able to square up to the target and get some weight behind the 12 gauge.
I would consider the Hogue forend, but I think it takes modification to fit the Maverick. I'm not for sure how to do that. The bright follower is a great idea, I have been considering it.

I was on the knoxxs bandwagon for a while, but then I went back to the old plain jane speedfeeds. I still have the folder on 1 shottie but I really do not like them all that much anymore. Oh well people change, However... for what its worth, the recoil really is cut down on them. I skipped the bright follower for the SS followers from Vang.
