Ruger LCP

Or the Keltec

Which would you choose and why?

I haven't shot (or even held) the Ruger yet, but we recently bought the Kel Tec P3AT as my wife's carry gun. The previous owner (who I trust) put about 50 rounds through it, we have put 100 rounds though it and it hasn't had any problems. Certainly not the most comfortable gun to shoot, but it is powerful (relative to its size, of course) and more accurate than I was expecting. It pinched my finger a bit and I can only get 1.5 fingers on the grip, I only put 20 rounds through it myself, my wife has done 80 over two trips to the range and, even though it is not comfortable to shoot 20+ rounds with at once, she loves it and it is the perfect carry size for her.

And I could have bought 2 S&W Sigma's or the 1 Springfield XD that I Did buy.

I have held neither the LCP or the KelTec, so i'm just asking for information from people who have experience with one or the other or both.

I had a P3AT. It had many ejection problems. I finally sent it back to keltec and they replaced the barrel and slide. I shot 50 rounds through it and then sold it and bought a SW 642.

I have heard better things out of the LCP than the keltec.

Between the Kel-Tec in the 1st picture and the Kel-Tec in the 2nd picture, I'd have to go with the Kel-Tec.

All jokes aside, I've never been a fan of anything kel-Tec makes, so I would rather roll my dice on the Ruger.

Where are you getting Sigma's for that price? If you did buy 2 Sigmas instead of 1 XD, you'd be getting one he** of a deal.

Personally, the Kel Tec has been great for me. I've had 0 failures and the gun is a lot of fun. It is a little harsh on the hands, but that makes no difference. Still have a good time shooting.

Given that the LCP is so new, I can't see spending the extra $$ for it just for the name (I hate to say this, but look at the SR9-- DO NOT take this to mean I don't like Ruger... they're a great company).

YMMV
