Finally My Rig (Rifle) Pics

Here she is:

Savage 10FP 308 - 24" Heavy Barrel
Stockade Stock - Tactical with Adj Cheek and Butt Plate
Farrell Base (Soon to be a 20 MOA not 30)
TPS Rings
Falcon Menace 4.5-18 x 56mm MP20 Reticle
Harris Bipods with Lg Pod Claws and cover

With the problem of the base I was shooting 8" high at 100 yards. I held on the marks and pulled out a .75" of final group. With bedding the action and base and trueing the action I should pull under .50". I changed out the bolt knob with one I made and never had to move my elbow when rechambering.

I added the texture to the stock and painted it myself. Not completely finished with that part. Weight is just shy of 15 pounds as is.

The winds was brutial that day but luckly is was from the 5 to 6 o'clock position about 15-20 mph.

I was using Federal Match 168 gr Sierra BTHP. I got a 500 round Lot in a few weeks before.

Kidding, nice shooting, looks like you have a winner!

Man. You read my mind while you were building that thing. My 10FP setup is very similar.

I would like to see how you painted the stock. Is that the fishnet technique?

I had a 20 MOA Farrell on my Savage 223, and wasn't even on the backer at 100 yards. With my Bushnell 4200 bottomed out, I was zeroed at 300. Of course, the older 4200s don't have much adjustment, just great glass. I replaced that 20 MOA base with 15, and put on a Buckmaster, and it's fine now. Replace that 308 barrel with something in a 6.5, and you can use a 0 MOA.

I have the 15MOA base on mine too. But my scope has 90MOA of total adjustment range, so I don't have to worry about bottoming out at 100 yards.

sweet stock, i have been looking into some .308 savages, a little longer term after i built an FAL and maybe ar15. Since they wont ban the savage, not the priority.

I want to save the maker and specs on your stock,
i found this link,Stocks

i dont see how much it costs for the butt plate and cheek rest ?

I think i am in love. Good prices for the you finish out of the mold condition. Very good. Saves me a good 40 %.

Do you have a model number for your stock ?

The Stock was an unpainted model with the Adj cheek and butt for 430. The price has gone up a little for the unpainted since then but still this set up for 470.

Kevin is good people to deal with, a little chatty but he will get what you want. Here is his link. When I do another build it will have a stock from him.

Stockade Gun Stocks - specializing in custom rifles

---------

The paint job is 1st layer Krylon Tan/Khaki, then once dry and sanded down I put inside of a laundry bag with big holes and sprayed with the Brown, I have a laundry bag with finer holes at home that I will use for the 3rd color Green. All the colors are in a matte finish.

I am in the process of making bolt knobs out of aluminum and they will have a Moly Resin oven cure coating on them and I may use the Moly Resin air cure to do a digital pattern in the future.

------------

I have a total of 191 cm in adjustment (mine is 1 click = 1 cm, I have the metric scope) which equals 75 inches. 1cm= .393 inches.
