Not quite. George Kellgren was a designer for Grendel who founded Kel-Tec. While I have not had a customer service experience of my own, the ones I have heard about have generally been quite positive.

A toss-up.

A Davis Industries .380. I suppose there wasnt much wrong with it. It was made very cheaply, and for some reason, I just didnt trust it.

A Ruger Single Six knock-off. The cylinder froze, absolutely refused to turn - the hammer froze as well in a less than half cock position. Bizarre.

Pheonix Arms .22.

Started off fine, the stoped ejecting for some reason. Poor mechanism to hold in magazine, slide saftey failed, and very, very, very ammo picky.

Still have it though...

worst gun

My worst gun is a Winchester M70 in .30-06. It's the Black Shadow. It'll group at 50 yards but after that the groups just spread out. The stock has too much flex in it and the trigger is heavy. I even switched scopes (including a Leupold) and tried differant ammo. On the other hand my Remington M700 SPS in .30-06 shoots dime to nickel sized groups depending on ammo and how well I do my job. I still have the Winchester though, it does have a smooth action.

Worse gun(s):
#1. AMT .380 Jammo, oops I meant Auto - I traded it for a Colt Cobra Agent .38 Spec.

#2 The Gun I bought last Monday and shipped off to be repaired last Tuesday - less than 24 hours after getting the thing - the highly vaunted Kahr CW4543 .45 ACP auto. It comes with a note that it cannot be considered reliable until at least 200 rounds have been fired. It jammed on my first round and all subsequent rounds - simply loading - not firing! i.e. working the slide back and forth with a loaded mag. So I switched ammo and it locked up - the round wouldn't come out of the chamber no matter how I manipulated the slide. I called Kahr up and they gave me some advice. I finally got the round out, and sent it - brand new and unfired (and unloaded) back to Kahr for them to work on it.

I got the gun back in less than a week with a note from Kahr. Here is what the note said, "Problem Reported: Failure to return to battery and failure to eject live round." “Action Taken: Replaced Extractor, Polished Ejector, Feed Ramp, Extractor Bore Test, Fired OK”

So, like the idiot fool that I am, I loaded the thing. It fed great, though I had to push a little on the rear of the slide to fully chamber. Then I did something really stupid, I pulled the slide back to clear the live round. The slide wouldn’t budge. So I really grabbed it and it moved back and the live round flew out and a new round flew in and I fought to get it out. Then I thought, “hey I’ll hit the mag release and stop this vicious cycle.” So I did. I can tell you the gun does perfectly fine provided you don’t do a thing with it.

I will go and shoot it at some point – pray for me! I am not impressed with Kahr. They are definitely not good right out of the box, though they are expensive. Too bad you can’t just return guns.
