Do all XDs have heavier recoil springs than Glocks?
My wife recently got her CCW and she is taking lessons from an NRA cert. instructor. She has never successfully racked the slide on my XD-45 but found it relatively easy to cycle the instructor's Glock (waiting for the inevitable immature but very funny joke).
Are the recoil springs in all XDs relatively heavy compared to Glocks? At first I thought that the instructor's spring may have lightened over time from thousands of rounds, but then I read this article that suggested that Glocks are easy for women to operate. Millennium Ark: Handguns for Women |

Kidding aside, I don't know about the springs, but my XD9sc seemed more difficult to rack than my G19. My wife can do the 19, but had trouble with the XD...though she managed it eventually.

Springs weaken over time.
