This just looks silly - "Carbine Conversion" for 1911/Glock.

DeltaForce.com

I don't get it. I could buy one of those Hi-Point carbines and be shooting 9/40/45 pistol calibers all day for less than $200. Hell even a ~$700 Beretta CX4 Storm would be cheaper than a $500 Taurus PT1911/Glock + $350 Carbine Conversion and would probably work even better.

Is it just me or is this REALLY goofy?

Tell you the truth I actually find it pretty hillarious

There's one in my local gun shop that I'd guess must have a decade's worth of dust on it....hanging up near the ceiling out of the way of everything. I remember asking the manager what it was years ago and he did tell me after he stopped laughing, which took a while.

peace,
D.

You can't believe how much fun those things are. Every now and then we have carbine stages at my IDPA club, and usually we have my Mech-Tech and a 9mm AR-15 available for shooters to choose from. The AR gets left by the wayside after people shoot the CCU. They are accurate and dead-flat reliable.

I wouldn't mind having one for my G17. But I already have a Hi-Point.

And at the moment they STILL don't have a 45ACP version of the Hi-Point. They keep saying "they are coming soon." but they still have yet to put them out yet.

If you already have a 1911 or Glock, and you want a carbine , and can buy it at dealer cost, it is a good option. They are very accurate and fun to shoot.

I put a AR CAR stock on mine.

Zipgun, it looks cool with that stock.... and of course with the 1911 frame. It would be a shame to put a piece of plastic on it.

well i doubt people would go out and buy a 1911 just so they could use it for this. but if you allready have a 1911 or glock then it seems like it would be fun. i like the one with the adjustable stock on it instead of the wire one it comes with. i personally wouldnt mind getting one but i wont spend more then 200 maybe 250

You can usually get a Kel Tec Sub-2000 folding rifle in a pistol caliber for less than those carbine kits and they work better.
