XD-45 vs The new HK-45
If money were not an Issue ...
Which gun would you choose & why? The XD-45 or the New HK-45 |

If money where of no concern, I would have both. Both are quality pistols that I would feel fine trusting my life with.
In reality, I have the XD Service and Tac so my next purchase will be either the HK 45 or a Kimber Eclipse in 10 mm. D*** the champagne taste and beer budget! |

I love the Xd, but I would have to go with the HK. I just got the HK usp 40 and I love it. Since then I have been considering another HK. I really like the feel of them in my hand. I also like the recoil spring set up on them. There is a big difference in recoil between my glock 23 .40 and my HK .40, and I assume that the same would apply to the .45
Its also nice to have the external hammer. I just went looking at the new HKs and the trigger pull is even better than their old ones. |

My choice was the XD. I don't know why (and I really hate it) but HKs just don't work for me. Other than the grips being too sharply checkered I really like the guns. Unfortunately, I just can't shoot them. I have no idea why but they just don't work for me.

Which gun do you think would provide ? - Better Accuracy - Lowest Muzzle Rise (quicker acquisition - follow up shots) - Best trigger feel & weight (I really like my XD trigger, just wish I had SA/DA) The XD-45 or the New HK-45 |

I am with you, Finster. I just got the H & K USP .45, and I am in LOVE with it. I am also looking into another one. Probably a Combat Competition or an Expert. My XD 45 was a gret gun, but just not for me.

XD45 Tac. I waited for the H&K45 to come out for over a year because I knew I "had to have one". I have a P2000 in 40 that I absolutely love, But when I picked up the new H&K it just didn't feel right to me. To be honest I had been looking at the XD45 service and wasn't that impressed with the feel either, but when I held a XD45 Tac it was like hey this feels pretty darn good so I bought one and have never regretted it. Bottom line is even if money is no object, buy the one that feels the best in your hand. It will probably be the one you shoot the best.

I don't go out and buy a gun just because someone says it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. To me a gun is a tool and if there is one that will do certain job better than one I have, such as more concealable without giving up power I'll take a look at it. However I don't see where the HK45 does anything my XD45Cs don't do well and at a lower cost. So my answer is, NO, I will not go out and buy one.

HK's have never "talked" to me when I look or handle them. Somehow almost feel cheaply made for some reason and not really anything in the looks category either IMHO. A Sig though, I could see owning.

They are great guns. If I new how to post some pictures of mine I would. I colored in the letters on the gun with paint pens. The HK got red, all the other letters got white. I did the same with the magazines. If you log onto HKpro they show you how to do it and show some really nice pics as well. I really like the way mine looks now. I think I might look into a p30 or p2000 next.
