AMT .380 Backup

I have one of these little stainless steel noise makers and can't decide if I want to keep it or get shed of it for something else.

Does anyone have an idea on what an excellent condition, used one of these might be worth? Are they worth keeping? I haven't shot it all that much but when I have, it has performed well enough.

Something tells me I might enjoy a Keltec or Bersa more.

Thanks for your insight in advance.

I had a Cobra, (really horrrible trigger), and would have traded for the Ruger LCP but not a dealer in town has one in stock. I ended up with the Bersa. I got the version with the raised white dot sights. It fits in a front pocket of my jeans, casual slacks and dress slacks. It shoots reasonably well at close quarters of 7 to 10 yards. Uncle Mikes pocket holster fits it O.K. I'd prefer a leather hoster but have to order other things first for other guns. Good luck!

Not sure on the worth of one in good condition. My buddy at work got one for free with the purchase of his Kimber and I've been trying to get him to sell it to me for a 100 bucks just to have a knock around pocket gun that I won't care about.

I've shot it a few times and it shoots alright I just don't like the magazine release.

Have you checked GunBroker.com Online Gun Auction or GunsAmerica - Connecting Gun Buyers to Gun Sellers Since 1997 to see what they are going for on there? That may give you a general idea of what to start the price out at.

No, but I do want one. They seem to be excellent shooters for what they are. Reliability trumping all other aspects.

It looks like I could pull down close to 200 bux for it, according to Gunbroker. That's more than I paid for it about 10 years ago. It's the single action with the grip safety.

I need to read up more on the Ruger. I know a few guys that were excited about it coming out. What are they running?

Thanks for the help, folks.

If I were going to pocket carry a 380 it would be a Bersa Thunder. Wait, hold it, I do! It is dead flat reliable and can tear ragged holes in a target at 7 yards in rapid fire.
