Ruger 22/45 Slide release...

Okay, I checked out my gun over and over and it is still a vergin in my hands.. havent gotten a single shot thru it besides the test fire by OEM guys. I noticed tha the slide release lever (button) is so darn hard!!! it takes both my thumbs to release the lever!! thats just insane! I thought my Buckmark was hard to cock back, this one is almost impossible to do with with one thumb/finger. You can release it with a finger, but after a few times, it gets sore like a mofo.

Anyone knows of a remedy for this? I stuck dummy rounds in my mag to loosen up the spring since I know that its the new springs that is mkaing it so much harder but still, even now, its still hard as heck.

The best fix is to do a slingshot fix that is listed in the link below. There is some talk about the lever wearing from using as a slide release, so much that the bolt doesn't stay open on an empty mag.

I've already done the mag disconnect mod to mine,

and getting ready to do the slingshot mod also.
Make sure you have the updated hammer pivot pin already, if not have Ruger send you one and replace that. Mine was the old style and damaged the grip frame bad enought that Ruger replaced it.
