Any Mosin Nagant fans around here?
Owned many of them over the years especially fond of the M44 myself. I just took advantage along with some buddies of an online deal we found. Basically 43 bucks after taxes and all from Centerfire Systems, which although they have a pretty good web presence is a semi-local ( about 40 minutes) company for me. Cant wait to pick them up tomorrow
Any body else fond of them or the 7.62 x54R? |

Got a 91/30 from 1932 all numbers matching and in GREAT shape!! Love it, but then I had to get a K98 to go with it because you can't play, "Enemy At The Gates" without both sides.

I have a few M44's. They are cool, but I never really look at them much. Buried in my safe.
Still got some pics on my computer of my M44 markings. ![]()

I have a 91/30 as well as an 1895 pistol. The pistol is very underpowered shooting the 7.62 Nagant round and by far the wierdest looking round I've ever seen. I also picked up the conversion cylinder to shoot .32 ACP. Both weapons were cheap to buy and a blast to shoot.

I got one (M44) from aimsurplus, they were very good to me and I will do business with them again in the future gladly as a result (probably gonna get a "long" version of the Nagant.
I love my Mosin. It's unreal. My shooting is usually done within 50 yards, and man it's a breeze hitting stuff that close with the open sights. You could actually get a Nagant for cheap, get a scope mounting system for about 3/4 the cost of the rifle, put a decent-yet-inexpensive Tasco or BSA scope, and have you a full fledged deer rifle for around $250 bucks. |

My M44 was actually my first firearm. The loud bang and huge kick compared to my 1022 sort of prevented me from really learning how to shoot center fire long rifles properly. I probably couldn't hit a shoe at 15yrds. Subsequently, I just enjoy seeing the flames fly from the barrel!

I have three of them.
A 1937 dated Finnish M-27, a 1953 dated Chinese Type 53 (yes, the Chinese made an M44 variant) and a 1944 Russkie M44. The Finn is head and shoulders the best shooter of the bunch. My cousin has a 1944 Sako made M39 Finn Nagant and it too is a tackhammer. The Chinese Type 53 is alot more accurate than my Russkie M44 or my now sold Romanain M44. Yeah, I like Mausers and Enfields better, but I will never part with these three Mosins...they're big fun. - Brickboy240
