Mossberg 835 spec ammo question

I have a mossy 835 that I use for Turkey hunting and it is dead on accurate but I have some special 2 3/4" tactical shells that are similar to a slug but are not lead but have a polymer body....I need to know what i need to verify before sending one out of my 835.... Can I just pull my x-full choke and go, switch to a full open choke or do I need to trade out the barrels first???

it is my understanding that you need to change out the barrel. the regular barrel is overbored and a slug will bobble around before exiting. don't think the style of slug will make a diff.

I own an 835 and mine says on the barrel NOT to shoot slugs out of it. The 835 is over-bored to a 10gauge and it is unsafe to fire slugs through it.
That being said, my FIL who gave me the gun, told me he has fired many slugs through it with out a problem, but I would never do it.
On a normal barreled shotgun, I would use as close to a cylinder choke as possible. Never go too tight on a choke for slugs or sabots.

I think these guys hit the nail on the head. While I'm no expert, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter that kind of slug it is, the 835 won't agree with it.

yes there is but only for regular 12 gauge and since its a 10 gauge barrel then it can wobble going down the barrel
