Privately selling a gun

Hey guys, I need a bit of help with finding out the laws for trading guns to another individual. I am a resident of Ohio, and a guy from Michigan wants to buy a handgun from me. Now, I know that you can privately sell guns within the state of Ohio to an Ohio resident, but what about selling to a resident of another state? I'm thinking that it's probably a no-go without going through an FFL on either end, but I'm not sure. Can somebody give me a website that would be a good reference, or does anybody know what the law is on this issue?

has to be through a FFL dealer . . . without a doubt, in his home state.

Most will usually do this for a fee. buyer usually pays

It has to go through an FFL if it's going outside your state.

ATF Online - Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms

Thanks, Propeller! That's what I thought, but I didn't want to complicate things if it wasn't a neccessity.

After reading this, I infer that you could drive across the state line, meet the guy at an FFL, and do the transfer there. That would save him money on one end at least. This would be a lot easier if he was an Ohio resident!
