Finally bought my revolver!!!
I posted awhile back about asking what to look for in a used revolver. Theres was some great info posted and its now a sticky. Thanks for all the help cause it came in real handy today.
Anyways I went to the range today. In the case is see the gun that Ive always wanted but never had the dough at the time to get it. It was a used (obviously) but VERY VERY good shape Colt Python 6". Just the tiniest bit of wear at the tip of the barrel and some slight wear marks on the cylinder from use. The rest spotless. Tight cylinder and good gapping. $800. I had 300.00 in gift certs that my wife got me for xmas so it only cost me out of pocket just over 500.00. He just put it on the shelf yesterday. I wasnt even going to go there cause I usually shoot outside but my buddy got off work and really wanted to hit the range (it was raining). Puttin in the paperwork tomorrow and should have it in about 10 days. DAMN WAITING PERIOD!!! Wasnt even planning on buying a gun today and Ive been saving to build an AR but Im getting a bonus from my job next month and I got 18hrs overtime this check so Ill recoup my AR funds fast. I just couldnt let one get away again cause im sure it wouldnt stay there too long. Ill post some pics when I get it. Cant wait. Clobber

Nice buy!
The Colt Python is definately the nicest 357 ever made. They're not cheap and never were. I still have my Smith Mod.19 and used to own a Smith 686 (great revolvers, BTW), but I always dreamed about having a Python. - Brickboy240

Yeah man. Something about the Python. Its just sooooo smooth and that ventilated rib just makes the look. I just never had the dough to get one when I came across it. I was going to pick up a 686 they have there. They have a new one and a used (450.00) one but it was 4", real clean and prob coulda got if for cheaper. I really wanted a 6in so I passed. Good thing too.

Nice man...congrats! I just picked up my first revolver a couple weeks ago. I got a Colt Trooper Mk. V. .357 mag with 6" "vented" bbl.
I LOVE it. I just shot it last weekend. Took me about 12 rounds to get used to the trigger and the sights...but now its a heck of a shooter. Shot some .38 out of it as well...which is cool because its cheaper, but just not as fun as the .357 punch. Enjoy it! J. |
