Anyone signed up to get a Ruger LCP?

I'm curious if anyone is planning to get Ruger's new LCP, their super-compact .380 pocket pistol that will be coming out in March. Before anyone pounces on the effectiveness of the .380: yes I agree. It's probably below the threshold of effectiveness in handgun calibers. But you've also heard the concept that even a mouse gun, even a .22, is better than carrying nothing at all. And in situations where it's simply impossible to carry any realistic sized gun, (like when I'm jogging in lightweight clothes during the summer, or on my job where carry is prohibited so I need deep and total concealment in a pocket), the LCP might be a nice option. Finally, if you have a wife who is not into guns but would consider carrying something very small and with light recoil, the LCP might be just the thing. You can order these little things for $255 in some places, not bad.

I'm considering getting one, mostly for my wife, and for specialized carry situations. Is there any reason why these might NOT be a good choice in a lightweight .380? The other one I've considered is the Bersa Concealment .380, which was reviewed by Jeff Quinn at Gunblast.

looking hard at it... got a lot more faith in the Ruger name than either Keltec or Bersa. If it anything ruggedness like their P-series it will be a tank, I have dealt with P series since the P-85 in both 9mm and 45 ACP. It took the XD to get something other than a ruger in my hand

Think I'll give it six months or more till all the bugs, if any, are worked out. Then consider getting one.

If I had to choose a gun that I knew would last forever in a wilderness, SHingTF type situation and the XD wasnt around? I'd pick that P89.

Self defense close range mouse gun equals no sights.

Actually, i believe there is a small channel and front sight bump like the Kel-tec P3AT and P32. Its barely noticeable, but the gun should be surprisingly accurate for what it is. I'm pretty good with my lil P32.

I'm trying so very hard to stop myself from ordering one. I want one, but I've gotta wait until I get more money socked away.
