Quick Question about AK's
Ok, I'm a little confused....
A buddy of mine has told me that they do not make new AK-47's. He says they have new internals but the gun isn't new.... Now, I was wondering if thats true? Maybe they make an AK variant, or something but i'm pretty sure there are websites where you can buy new ones. (like bud's, or impactguns) |

There are new made ak's wasrs and saigas. Some people build ak's from kits but there are a few manufacturers that do make new ones.

and VePR, VePR II, Arsenal, Norinco/PolyTech/Legend (when they could be imported), SAR series, Hungarian SA85 and SA85M, RomAK/994 series, WUM and WUMII, Cugir series all exported brand new AKs to the US. Cugir (WaSR), Saiga (Izmash), Arsenal, and VePR are the only 100% newly assembled AKs allowed/imported into the US at this time.

Many were built in the 80s, but never issued. My Yugo is like that. It was sold as new, but really isn't new. I havea little corrosion on the gas tube and slide

Atlantic Firearms is a good place to look. I got the Vector classic and could hardly have hoped for anything better for the money.

They are assembled from Polish and Bulgarian parts ( mine was anyway ) Vector does a good job of it too.

kaBoom....Polish and Hungarian parts with Bulgarian furniture.....
Don't worry about an AK not being brand new, it really has no effect on the weapon as long as its from a good kit and put together properly. Whats the stamping on the front of your receiver, looks like a Cugir (SAR) type stamp. I thought Vector stamped on the bottom....

Here is a polish example of a Vector from Atlantic firearms that I replaced the plastic pistol grip with wood and refinished the wood to match.
