I don't know if I'd let the parts issue get you down too much.
Both of my SIGs are from the late 70s and early 80s. I have shot them both extensively and other than a magazine spring in the P220 (which Wolff carries...along with all P-series springs) I have never had to replace any parts on my SIGS. Unless you're planning on using the P6 for competition or some sort of endurance test...I doubt you'll break too many parts on the thing! Hey, if I can buy two used SIGs from 25+ years ago that already saw a fair amout of shooting and use them pretty regularly and they don't require any parts replacements other than a spring here or there..I'd say the parts problem is NOT a problem. Besides, theres always Gun Parts Corp and other online parts sellers. I found a like-new magazine for my P220 Euro online in about 30 minutes. The P220 Euro and Browning BDAs were only brought into the USA from 1977-1979...if I can find a mag for that short run SIG..you should be able to find magazines for the most widely issued European police pistol (the P225) for a very long time. Have any of you SHOT your P6s yet? I am always curious as to how you all found the P6/P225 at the range. I really like its shooting qualities and accuracy. Have any of you shot these things yet? - Brickboy240

I took mine to the range. Between the two of them I went through 150 rds of wwb FMJ and 50 rds of wwb JHP.
No problems feeding, firing or ejecting. Accurate, although I'm still better with the M&P .40. More trigger time needed. Need to put a lot more rounds through it before I comfortable with it for carry. Want some more magazines, too (who carry's them?). I'm also open to suggestions for better sights. I still haven't decided if I'm going to refinish mine. It could be a very nice $450 gun or a great $260 gun. One of these is supposed to be my wife's, I'll let het decide about hers. |

I'm quite a few hundred rounds in of various types (incl. HP) and it's eating everything flawlessly. Comfortable and accurate.

I went to see the dirty dealers at AIM today.
I could *smell* the Sigs in the back...but they said they weren't processed yet. Why, I was forced to buy a 1941 Nagant...and my buddy was reduced to picking up one of the Browning High Powers they have right now. Both are awesome...ok...the Nagant in a weird way but still awesome. Nice folks there...I'll be back often. |
