is the iraq police like ours with thier guns?

you have seen it on this and other boards..someone posts about the iraq army issued this and then someone posts "no my buddy who was there says they are issued this" and then bud jumps in saying "no that guns for practice this guns what they really use".

most people seem to think that iraq is a little dot on the map with one city and alot of desert not realizeing it has several citys and alot of towns and villages.

my question is are the iraq police like the ones in the U.S where one town or county has one service pistol and the village police down the road are issued something else??

and ive heard that the army wants to arm the iraqi army and police with m-16's what if some of the towns want to stick with the ak..could they?

You mean all those Glocks that just..... disappeared and are nowhere to be found. Who paid for those again?

I was watching shooting USA and they said the Iraqi Police are issued the S&W Sigma, not sure if it's the 9mm or .40 though.

From what I've read, the majority of the Iraqi police forces are being issued G19s.

devilslayer, awesome av, as far as Rugers go, the Army ordered 5,000 Ruger P95s and 5,000 SigPro pistols to issue to some tank divisions. I think they needed a large number of pisols pretty quickly, and Ruger and Sig came up with those two models first.

I don't know about your basic question, but this makes sense. If they get used to and end up preferring an m-16, we stand to make a profit because, even if they make them, they will be required to pay for patent rights usage.
It would be no different than the agreement to use US manufactured seed for their crops.
